Independent Business Valuation Services
Mi Casa Business Advisory provides independent and professional business valuation services, and whilst not a formal requirement all valuation methodology is informed by the approaches described in APES 225 Valuation Services. All valuations are prepared by an experienced practitioner, specifically Director Alan Rose, who holds a Master of Business Administration and an Advanced Diploma in Management and brings over 35 years' experience advising SMEs and ASX-listed companies.
All business valuations are invoiced separately to other consulting services provided by Mi Casa Business Advisory. All fees are fixed and are not contingent on the sale of the business. When valuations are prepared for purposes where independence is a formal requirement then these assignments are only ever taken on where Mi Casa has no brokerage role in that same business. Regarding potential conflict of interest, should any brokerage fee become payable on the successful sale of that business, then full written disclosure will be made to the client which will then require the client's informed consent to proceed.
Valuation Fee Schedule
Standard Engagement
- Moderate complexity, normalisation adjustments required, two or more revenue streams
Comprehensive Engagement
- Complex structure, multiple entities or locations, discounted cash flow reconciled against earnings and asset approaches, dispute- or sale defensible report
Work outside the agreed scope — including financials requiring additional normalisation, mid- engagement changes in scope, or urgent turnaround — is charged at an hourly rate of $350 (ex GST), agreed with the client in advance.

Business Valuations: An Imprecise Science White Paper

Succession Planning
Succession planning is the process of preparing, in advance, for the transfer of ownership and/or control of a business — identifying and developing the appropriate mechanism that may include family succession, management buyout, merger or a trade sale. Mi Casa Business Advisory will assist in building the business's value and readiness ahead of that transfer, selecting the mechanism best suited to the owner's objectives, and providing for the planned transition.
The planning process will take into account a range of consequences including:
- legal and structural readiness
- deal structure
- Intellectual Property (IP) and asset ownership
- funding options
- governance arrangements
- leadership and management transition
- business continuity, and
- stakeholder communication throughout the transition.
Advice on taxation, superannuation, insurance and estate planning matters falls outside Mi Casa's scope of services and when relevant, Mi Casa refers clients to appropriately qualified and licensed practitioners.
